Register for the Special Needs Students and California Common Core Standards webinar.
Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2014
Time: 3:30-5pm (Pacific Time)
How can students with disabilities benefit from instruction aligned to the California Common Core State Standards?
While many are concerned that the California Common Core Standards create further road blocks for students with disabilities, this webinar will provide insight into how the standards can actually provide greater opportunities for student learning and achievement of grade-level skills.
Join us in the discussion in which Silvia DeRuvo, a WestEd Program Associate, and Ellen Gervase, a Collaboration Coach in Downey Unified School District (California), will highlight the benefits of these national standards.
The multiple access points the standards provide to students of varying abilities will be discussed as well as how special education practices such as collaborative co-teaching and universally designed instruction create the foundation for Common Core State Standards-aligned special education.
This webinar is part of a series sponsored by the Secondary Literacy Partnership.
